A tribute to the classic 1960s Leica M35/1.4 V2 lens, the Artizlab Classic 35mm f/1.4 for M faithfully reproduces the timeless industrial design of the original, while its optical structure has been fully redesigned to meet modern imaging standards.

The lens features a brand-new 6-element, 8-group optical design using high-refractive-index glass. Compared to the original Leica lens’s 5-element, 7-group design, this new structure effectively suppresses flare and ghosting, improves central resolution, while retaining Leica’s signature color fidelity and smooth tonal transitions.

A highlight of this lens is the reintroduction of the focus-lock mechanism, previously only found in the earliest M35/1.4 V2 models and later discontinued. To focus, simply press the unlock button and rotate the focus ring for precise adjustment; after shooting, the lens automatically returns to infinity. This design adds a unique tactile feedback and sense of ritual, making every shutter press deliberate and focused. This lens is not just a tribute—it’s a modern reinterpretation and evolution of a classic.

Notes:

• Silver lens version comes with a silver front lens cap.

Rangefinder Coupling

The lens’s coupled focus range is ∞ – 1 m.
Actual rangefinder coupling may vary depending on the camera’s rangefinder mechanism; distance markings on the lens may differ slightly.

Focus Ring Lock Mechanism

1. The focus ring automatically locks when rotated to the ∞ position.

2. Press the focus ring to unlock and adjust focus.

UV Filter Installation Guide

1. Open Lens Hood: Turn the lens hood counterclockwise to loosen.

2. Place UV Filter: Position the UV filter at the front of the lens.

3. Secure Filter: Turn the filter clockwise to tighten.

Note: After installing the lens hood, the front lens cap cannot be attached.

Lens Hood Installation & Removal

1. Install: Press the button on the lens hood and push inward until secured.

2. Remove: Press the button and pull outward to detach the hood.
